You should be able to
find cacao powder at most health food stores, but unsweetened cocoa powder would work in this recipe too.
If I tell you that among the ingredients you'll
find cacao powder, dark chocolate, dried figs, and hazelnuts, you could think that it'll be perfect for breakfast, maybe with some honey, pear butter or orange marmalade, and it surely is.
I find cacao nibs a great buy, they add so much class to so many things, they're packed with antioxidants, and a little crunch really goes a long way.
You'll be able to
find cacao paste in a health food store, look in the «superfood» or «raw».
I couldn't
find cacao so I substituted organic cocoa powder & it was still delicious.

You can
find some cacao powders in the supermarkets, but mostly it'll be in health food shops such as Holland & Barrett.
If you can't
find cacao nibs, chopped semi-sweet chocolate chips or unsweetened carob chips are both reasonable alternatives, although you might want to reduce the sweetener in that case.
If you can't
find cacao nibs in your area, these are certainly delicious treats with cocoa powder coating instead.

I couldn't
find cacao to begin with so I used cocoa powder and they tasted really nice but i just found cacao at my local health food store and made these tonight and they are amazing, so much more rich than the ones I made with the cocoa powder.

What I
find works is to melt the coconut oil first with the maple syrup and add gradually the
cacao powder, stirring until you get the desired consistency.
Also, I
find 5 or even 6 generous tablespoons of
cacao powder work better than 4 as they make the brownies much more chocolaty and disguise the sweet potato flavour a bit better.

Cacao does contain some caffeine so if you
find that this affects you, I would avoid having this just before you go to sleep!
Ella, is there a substitute for
