This is thanks to both the
quality of the material and its telling; Nagy's script is perfectly pitched, as is Haynes masterful direction, but the real strength — and joy — of this
film is
found in its two lead performances.
Such is the power of the fantastical images that they seem to possess an almost - ethereal
quality, and by the time the
film enters its final third, you
find yourself daydreaming, completely lost in Anderson's whimsical universe.
