found success as a rare independent film that went up against the summer blockbusters and not only
found critical acclaim, but also performed exceedingly well
at the
box office.
Finding Nemo may not have managed to crack the top slot
at the
box office — it was up against The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King — but its
success both
at the multiplex and on home video (it's the biggest seller of all time, apparently) heralded a new age of animated blockbusters.
