I think two factors are in play: I
find women more than men get upset about injustice and unfairness, down at a gut level, so the way
Reacher rights wrongs in an old fashioned way must appeal.
Reacher is ordered undercover - to
find out everything he can, to control the local police, and then to vanish.
Firstly, the supremely confident
Reacher, who has rarely felt a moment of doubt in his life as we know it,
finds himself measuring his life choices as a drifter against those of his colleagues, who all enjoy various degrees of personal or professional success as measured by normal societal standards.
I
found a 1/2 dozen new ones (my favorite was by some Slytherin gal which reminded me of a Zenna Henderson short) including the author of a Harry Dresden - cum - Jack -
Reacher - Ghost - Whisperer.
