One of the most irritating
issues with the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 was the
placement of the
fingerprint scanner — right next to the camera lens.
Further, the metal frame itself is more grippy, fixing one of my biggest
issues with the S8, and also improves things like the
fingerprint sensor
placement and the curvature of the glass as well.
The hardware
issues of the Galaxy S8 Active come down to unfortunate
placement, as the Bixby button is all too easy to press when you don't want to and the
fingerprint scanner is too difficult to press when you do want to.
They will predictably have better specifications, and will fix one of the (subjective) design
issues existing in the S8 and S8 +: the
placement of the
fingerprint sensor.
Whether or not Samsung will address the
issue of the
fingerprint sensor
placement remains to be seen.
We prefer
fingerprint sensors on the rear, but had no
issues with the KeyOne's
placement.
Though both of them have some nitpick
issues such as the
fingerprint sensor
placement on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and the notch on the Apple iPhone X.
