The TENAA listing revealed images of the upcoming Nova 2 smartphone, showing
off its dual - camera setup on the back and a
fingerprint sensor that retained the same
position as on the previous Nova smartphones.
Sony needs to rethink their
position on omitting a
fingerprint sensor, particularly since mobile purchases and Android Pay are starting to take
off.
The way LG designed the modular G5, it was not possible to place the
fingerprint sensor at the bottom front of the phone, so LG
positioned it on the back of the phone where the on /
off and volume control resided on the LG G4.
A handful of leaked renders suggest it will look near - identical to its predecessor, with a slight tweak moving the rear
fingerprint sensor to below the camera (rather than its current, awkward
position of
off to one side).
Flip it over, however, and it shows
off some design tweaks: the
fingerprint scanner, which is
positioned to the rear for quick access, is now a circular opening rather than a square one; while the upgraded 16MP rear camera protrudes slightly from the phone's body thanks to what Huawei has describes as «the best optical image stabilisation available» - more on that later.
