Walking tours of the local area will guide visitors around these new public artworks, finishing at Queen Mary University of London — who have supported the new commissions — where remnants of a mural painting by East London Group member Phyllis Bray can still be seen in the People's Palace.

Executed in flat, intensely pigmented acrylic gouache, these new paintings retain Curry's collagist sensibility: highly finished areas (some done with an airbrush) contrast with fields of roughly slapped - on brushwork.

Combining coarse - textured areas and smooth planes, and finished with metallic and gloss paints, the sculptures recall Price's Slate Cups (1972 - 78) while evoking more gem - like mineral formations.
