Kyobo, the South Korean bookstore, has partnered with Mirasol to launch one of the world's
first color e-readers.
The titles are scheduled to be released in conjunction with the launch of Amazon's Kindle Fire,
their first color e-reader.
Ectaco made
the first color e-reader using E Ink Triton and Amazon made the first large screen e-reader, the Kindle DX.
Their first color e-reader sold a tremendous amount of copies during the holiday season, but were edged out of the number 2 position by Pandigital.
Mirasol recently released
their first color e-reader in South Korean with Kyobo, how is your company responding to that new technology and what do you think about it?
This is Amazon.com's
first color e-reader, and they've already seen a huge volume of pre-orders.
The result of said above is the launch of
the first color e-reader featuring Qualcomm's mirasol display tech.

And while all current E-Ink displays are limited to monochrome,
color is not far away — the
first color E Ink displays were recently unveiled at a trade show in Japan, and at least one vendor expects to be showing an
e-reader with a
color e-ink display this January at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
This is the 3rd brand of
e-reader that I've owned, the
first was the REB1200 (perhaps someday a
color e-ink reader will appear in my home...)... at the time, had hoped after its acquisition by Gemstar / TV - Guide that they'd produce an electronic subscription of it for the reader.
But on Tuesday at the FPD International 2010 trade show in Tokyo, a Chinese company will announce that it will be the
first to sell a
color display using technology from E Ink, whose black - and - white displays are used in 90 percent of the world's
e-readers, including the Amazon Kindle, Sony Readers and the Nook from Barnes & Noble.

color e-reader.

As expected, Chinese manufacturer Hanvon has unveiled the World's
first color E-ink
e-reader at CES 2011.
Although other
color e-readers are in development from companies such as LG, Havon was the
first to bring to the Chinese Market.
Given the awards the the Triton
color E-Ink technology is collecting and the path being set by Hanvon, it is only a matter of time before Amazon or Barnes and Noble or Kobo announce the
first color E-Ink
e-reader for the US market.

Color e-reader at CES earlier on in the year and not much as changed on the hardware front.
