When I
first started dabbling with the idea of cleaning up my
diet,
shifting my breakfast from fruit loops to oatmeal seemed like an easy - enough transition.
It probably fed
first on the sugar in the milk that you drink called lactose, and then it
shifted to over to other kinds of sugar as your
diet change [d] too.
The
first week of a low - carbohydrate
diet leads to a
shift in the body's metabolism.
On a high fat, low carb
diet during the
first few weeks, as your body adjusts to burning fat instead of carbohydrates, it is common to experience fatigue, brain fog, and sometimes dehydration which is the body
shifting into ketosis.
Even though I personally believe in the power of ketogenic
diets to improve and even reverse many chronic illnesses, from diabetes to chronic fatigue to mood disorders, the
diet does this by causing very real
shifts in body chemistry that can have a major impact on medication dosages and side effects, especially during the
first few weeks.
I ended up supplementing my
diet with about a 1/4 cup of whole flax seeds (ground fresh and mixed with yogurt) during the
first half of my cycle until I confirmed ovulation by a basal body temperature
shift.
I have certainly written in the past on how to last longer, how to dial up the sexual polarity in your relationship, how to sexually strengthen yourself, and how ejaculating too much can drain you... but this was the
first time that I had tested the idea that slightly
shifting your
diet could positively affect your sex life.
My mission is to help people understand that food is the
FIRST level of medicine in their lives. If we can return our
diets to the pre-industrialized age, we will return to a
diet of whole «clean» foods, way less processed foods, minimal sugars and we will
shift how we have been living in the non-food areas of our lives so that we are more balanced and stress - free.
Ketosis
Diets — high in protein, low in carbs, moderate in fats — my experience is that this feels great at
first — because you feel like you're doing the perfect «proper»
diet plan — and you get excited to lose weight, but then when your hormones
shift mid cycle — it's impossible to fight your carb cravings and major falling off the wagon, binge carbing ensues.
