When you've finished with your
first batch of
kefir, you can place the grains in a little
milk and leave them covered in the fridge.

milk kefir first with your grains, then after you've made your grains multiply, take a few and try using them on the water
kefir recipe.

You could send a picture of the
milk kefir and what is happening that would help tremendously but my
first question is what type of
milk are you using?
If you're making
kefir for the
first time, put 2 tablespoons of grains for every 2 cups of
milk.
The way you mentioned
first is perfectly fine but you probably won't have to switch from coconut
milk kefir to
milk everyday if you do not want to.
After you start your
first batch of
kefir (in
milk or the liquid from the young coconut), you can use a small amount of that
first batch to make your second batch.
