What we also see when trading pivots in the FX market is that the trading range for the session usually occurs between the pivot point and
the first support and resistance levels because a multitude of traders play this range.
Not exact matches
As the second quarter of 2012 kicks off preceded by a very bullish
first quarter, it's the perfect time to take an updated look at key technical
levels of
support and resistance on the main stock market indexes.
They also discovered that compared with healthy controls, patients with
first episode schizophrenia had higher
levels of insulin
and increased
levels of insulin
resistance, again
supporting the notion that this group are at higher risk of developing diabetes.
Well given that price has shown it's hand
and started trending strongly above that previous
resistance at 1295 - 1300, we could assume that
level is going to act as strong
support, in fact after the
first break out prices actually re tested that
level here
and quickly pushed higher.
It sure looks complicated at
first but this baby's got
support and resistance levels, crossovers, oscillators,
and trend indicators all in one go!
The
first thing I want to mention about
support and resistance levels is that they aren't always exact
levels.
Once you've drawn your key
support and resistance levels (which should always be the
first step), you simply wait for a price action signal to develop.
I draw in the key
support and resistance levels on the chart
first.
Here's a good exercise for you to work on: When marking
support and resistance levels on your charts, mark the longer - term «key»
levels first and then draw the shorter - term
levels.
The very
first thing you should do after opening a new chart is to draw key
support and resistance levels.
To trade this method you
first calculate the pivot point (I'll explain this later),
and its
support and resistance levels.
In Figure 2, a chart of the currency pair USD / JPY, you can see in the areas circled that prices initially stayed within the pivot point
and the
first resistance level with the pivot acting as
support.
