Of course it would be silly to suggest that winning any game, cup or otherwise, isn't good for the club, but let's remember just how problematic FA Cup success has been for this club... I'm certainly not going to suggest I didn't enjoy seeing Arsenal win, I'm a fan of this club first and foremost, but how bad are things when you find yourself secretly wishing that your own team lost so that just maybe real change would finally come... I resent this team for even making me feel such thoughts and it's going to take a lot of effort on their part to earn my trust again... this club has treated the fans so poorly that it has created an incredibly fragile and toxic environment, so much so that a «what have you done for me lately» mentality has emerged... fans rise and fall depending on the results of each game because we don't have faith in those in charge to make the necessary changes to personnel and tactics... each time we win many fans attack any dissenting voices and make unrealistic claims about the players, the manager and the potential for unprecedented success... every time we lose the boo - birds run rampant, calling for heads to roll and predicting the worst... regardless of what side you fall on, it's not your fault, both sides are simply overcompensating for the horrible state of affairs that have been percolating for several years... it's hard to take the long view when those in charge have lied incessantly and refuse to take any responsibilities for their own actions... in the end, we are trapped by the same catch - 22 that ManU faced upon Fergie's exit... less fearful of maintaining the status quo than facing the unknown, which was validated, wrongly or rightly, by witnessing the difficulties they have faced during this transitory period... to be honest, the thing that scares me most is that this team has never prepared whatsoever for this eventuality, which considering our frugal nature and the way we have shunned many of our most revered former players is more than a little disconcerting
Come the other year when Arsenal went the whole season without a defeat in the Premier League, Barcelona were attracted by Marc Overmas and Emmanue Petti, the two joined Barcelona, they played few games, and sometime on the bench, as a result Emmanue Petti decided to go back to England and joined New - Castle and always regret leaving Arsenal, then the other year it was Alexander Hleb, he was the best dribller in Arsenal team, he went again to Barcelona, he was never given some games, I think he only played few games as a sub, and his carrier was destroyed by Barcelona, then come Henry, he again went to Barcelona, he played some games but not like he used to do at Arsenal, he was not looking like a star player anymore, he decided to go to America, then there was Fabrigas, he joined Barcelona again, since he was one of their juniors, I think he played for two seasons, and supporter used to booing him, he decided to come back to Arsenal, by then Arsenal had already resplaced him with Ozil, and he joined Chelsea, then come Alexander Song, he pushed to go to Barcelona, he was always on the banch, and never been on first eleven, then he ended up regreting joing Barcelona, and wanted to go back to Arsenal, but normally Wenger do not take players who pushed themselves to be out of Arsenal, lastly there was Vermuleen, he went to Barcelona and ended up not playing at all but when playing for Arsenal they used to be star players.

Up front we have a few world - class players surrounded by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely by season's end... obviously a mistake by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been more on display than in North London, but the club's irresponsible wage structure and lack of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I think has some world - class skills as a front man, will only be as good as the players and system around him, which is troubling due to our current roster and Wenger's love of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been brought in from the get - go... both of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are good enough to overcome such difficulties: not to mention, they both are below average first - touch players, which should be the baseline test for any player coming to a Wenger - led Arsenal team... Perez should have been played wide left or never purchased at all; what a huge waste of time and money, which is ridiculous considering our penny pinching ways and the fact that fans had been clamoring for a real striker for years... finally Giroud, the fact that he stills wears the jersey is a direct indictment of this club's failure to get things right... this isn't necessarily an attack on Giroud because I think he has some highly valued skills, but not for a team that has struggled to take their sideways soccer to the next level, as his presence slows their game even more, combined with our average, at best, finishing skills... far too often those in charge have either settled or chosen half - measures and ultimately it is us that suffer because no matter what happens Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke will always make more money whereas we will always be the ones paying for their mistakes... so every time someone suggests we should just shut - up and support the team just think of all the sacrifices you've made along the way and simply reply... f *** off
Our player of the season so far?Certainly the most consistent.JACK AND OZIL CONTRACTS - just get them signed up for F *** S SAKE.Jack doesn't want to go anywhere and Ozil will have his choice of big clubs to choose from if allowed to be able to go on a free. How about giving out a statement of our ambitions (yeah right) and show were prepared to pay whatever it takes (up to the point of being ridiculous) to SIGN the best and KEEP the best» These two are the best we have so get them sorted early to send out a message of how serious we intend to be.AUBAMEYANG - So what if he has a contract. So did Sanchez.Offer the right money to Dortmund and the player and he will be ours. What is there to question over this deal?He is a proven goalscorer. We have just lost one.Get the deal done.GIROUD - Get rid of him to Dortmund if they want him either by selling or if it sweetens the deal just loan him till the end of the season. He was a back up when Sanchez was here and will be on the mix of back ups if Auba signs. He has a World Cup squad to fight for just to be considered so needs to be playing every week.We do not need him if Auba signs and would demand better than him if the deal fails to happen.Just get rid.JONNY EVANS - I'm not sure.Agree Kos needs nursing through games and we do not have consistent performers to come in if he is injured or rested mainly due to both Chambers and Holdimg not progressing through as much as we first thought and hoped for.Gooners have always been patient and supportive of the youngsters as they have come through but question marks to the whole coaching staff as to why these two seem to have stalled as much as they have done.Steve Bould - What do you do?You should be ashamed.
I would love to see chambers at CB, but since his first game for us he has kept me nervous due to his rush challenges, sometimes you are thinking to yourself please Chambers stay on on your feet and see out this attack, but he will just go in with no thought at all, he will commit himself into tackles that an experienced player would not.

When Bellerin first came into the side he not only defended well but was always so dangerous going forward. His pace and ability to go outside his marker gave us an attacking outlet that allowed us to play without a recognised right sided attacker which coincided with Walcott getting less and less game time.We all thought this boy was going to turn into someone very special and so obviously did the management who apparently renewed his contract on a reputed # 100k per week. What have we seen since then?A player that seems as indecisive and under coached as the rest of the defenders at the club.A player that has rarely delivered a performance that reflected his initial early form.A player whose body language seems to display his displeasure at being at our club when Barcelona reputedly offered # 40m for him in the close season.

watching my team against Ireland yesterday even tough we won i wasn, t impressedit, we only start playing with purpose when we go behind and when we, re in front we slow down our play, i thought koscielny had a decent game with a couple of good clearance and his job was made more difficult by adil rami who is a burden on the team and always one mistake away, giroud can, t be blamed for his first half performance the guy was starved of any service and it, s only when griezman was moved to his favourite position that giroud started making the difference what a great assist, by the way shane long dived for the penalty but that, s ok we are square now with the irish we had henry, s handball & they had the penalty!!
Granite Xhaka saved us last night, i'm not a great fan of Xhaka but i thought the game changed as soon as he come on, on Wilshere i have been his biggest supporter but last night he let me down badly, he made no space for himself he was just out for the fresh air, i thought Sead had a lousy game to even do he scored, it was a sad night for Arsenal supporters and football to watch that, there were plenty of alarms raised when we played Ostersunds FK in the first leg in the second half, AW should of known better to prepare his team and should get off his ass and shout a bit from the side line like all passionate managers do when they send a message to their players
Anyway it is the first game, but back to reality for all those who thought we were going to win the league or were contender... Same old Arsenal (and Wenger) not bringing the players we need and gambling on guys like Welbeck (sh*t player), Wilshere (eternal hope, but will never be top) and more of the same Wenger craps!

What on earth does he mean when he says the first goal «destabilises us»...... I think Wenger watches a different game to the rest of us.
every fan of every team in the epl wants them to win every game they play that is what being a fan is but getting back to planet earth i do nt think anyone believes we have a first 11 or squad depth to win the league even the 4th place junkies on this site do nt expect it but are just so high on wenger juice that they can trip their way to any thing before cold turkey hits them... the disappointment comes from the absurdity of another wasted transfer window
Well put steven i think the winter period hurt laca first year in epl is tough on majoruty of foreign strikers bellerin has been decent but he could srengthen up and xhaka has had his oppurtunoty and not grabbed with cazorla coming back and a summer open for signings he is indee pressure now but with time i think the new signings will start to gel and with perspective to the Rticle i agree with uou there is no white flag being thrown up this article really lacked the perspective that was being asked because it jist said we lost some games without an honest reflection pf how those games went everyone has lost games this year and liverpoodlians even lost to swansea city to wigan
I could be reading too much into it, but it seems like he was not too happy when Lacazette scored in the first game and in the second one when our new signing went to congratulate him on his goal I thought Olivier ignored him.
I also think that there is a good chance that Aaron Ramsey could be ready for that first EPL game but going on the assumption that he will not play and nor will Mesut Ozil, Kosielny and Giroud then the boss has four very big gaps to fill.
