I've also been spending a lot of my time in preparation for
my first travel blogging conference!
Transparent communication is a theme running through Luc Levesque's career, from his 1997 founding of Travelpod,
the first travel blogging website where people could share their adventures, to his current practice of handing new employees a boss blueprint.
The lovely folk at Ice Lolly (their Blog At The Beach 2015 was
the first travelling blogging conference I ever attended) did actually invite me to their 2016 event, but I had to turn down the invitation because I'd be backpacking around Myanmar on the date they were hosting it).

My
first suggestion, if you haven't started yet, would be to take an article writing,
blogging or
travel writing course.
So, now you have a little insight into what my
first year of
travel blogging was like, now let's talk about the future?
I was a basket case the
first few months of full - time
travel blogging, so I've had to train myself to trust that things will work out when those slow months inevitably occur.
The Liebster Award is actually designed for new bloggers, I read somewhere that it is for people with less than 200 followers and awarded to people within their
first year of
travel blogging.
I attended my
first TBEX where I met so many wonderful people and learned so much about
travel blogging and the industry.

first start it is the most exciting time because you really appreciate all of the new readers and discovering there is such a large
travel blogging community is quite exciting.
Now we've just reached our

When I
first started I quickly realised that I had a lot to learn about
travel blogging, and in particular to find my voice and my best «fit» as a

Travel Bloggers Right Now!
It was my
first nudge in the direction of
travel blogging.
I was in Ireland the
first week of October for a
travel blogging conference called TBEX.
After the
first article, we received more materials from the
travel blogging community — this follow on article was born!
Subscribe to my mailing list below for the next chapter of my
Travel Blogging 101 series about landing your
first press trip --
After quite a few years of
travel blogging I met up with a couple of other
travel bloggers for the
first time just last year — and it was such a thrill!
At
first it was overwhelming, but later on, there's a lot of sources of
travel (and
blogging) inspiration here.
In this
first in a series of monthly roundup articles I scoured the internet to bring you five reputable articles that will help you find guest
blogging opportunities to grow your
travel brand and establish
blogging identity.
In my humble opinion, your best bet with
travel blogging is jumping in feet
first and sticking with it because you love it.
We are embarking on our
first adventure in
travel blogging and it's great to see content like this encouraging more people to think critically about information they receive from all forms of media (us included I guess).
