Big in your list I can agree that all these
players would improve us, but let's look at our CB At the moment Kos, top
player but is struggling with a inj which may or may not heal, at the moment he isn't match
fit so not up to his own high standard, so needs help or a defender of his quality so he can go and recover properly So then we have Mert, too slow and no longer good enough, I'm not sure if he's even good enough for 3 rd choice CB, too slow, poor on the air for his size and not brave enough, he's lasted this long due to Kos he needs a Top class CB just to allow him to play against average
teams Ok now Reid not top class we can all agree so we couldn't really play him with MERT
as he isn't Kos quality so can't cover merits deficiencys He could be ok with Kos but Kos is struggling So is Reid what we need???? And finally Wenger if he has all 3
fit will still play Kos / Mert
first choice Oh and God forbid we play MERT / Reid against the top
teams like Chels / city / utd / Southampton Chuckle chuckle
In addition we're too loyal to
players who can't stay on the pitch for more than one game a season, Wilshere shouldn't even be considered for the
first team until he's fully
fit next year, Rosicky should've been released last season, but Wenger used them
as an excuse not to buy available quality in midfield.
We lost so many games against top 4
teams in the past couple of years, that one win won't erase it all (let's not get ahead of ourselves) but if we can keep getting such win by putting not only a fluid and great offensive display but also grit and composure in defence; our win today and the way it happened will be the
first step in the right direction... our best
players being
fit will help too: it looks promising,
as a GUNNER today I can celebrate and hoping for many more!!
Nothing like one underachiever blowing smoke up the ass of another... we know that Ozil has some incredible technical gifts, but to be considered the best you have to bring more than just assists to the table... for me, a top
player has to possess a more well - rounded game, which doesn't mean they need to be a beast on both ends of the pitch, but they must have the ability to take their game to another level when it matters most... although he amassed some record - like stats early on, it set the bar too high, so when people expected him to duplicate those numbers each year the pressure seemed to get the best of our soft - spoken star... obviously that's not an excuse for what has happened in the meantime, but it's important to make note of a few things: (1) his best year was a transition year for many of the traditionally dominant
teams in the EPL, so that clearly made the numbers appear better than they actually were and (2) Wenger's system, or lack thereof, didn't do him any favours; by playing him out of position and by not acquiring world - class striker and / or right - side forward that would best
fit an Ozil - centered offensive scheme certainly hurt his chances to repeat his earlier peformances, (3) the loss of Cazorla, who took a lot of pressure off Ozil in the midfield and was highly efficient when it came to getting him the ball in space, negatively impacted his effectiveness and (4) he likewise missed a good chunk of games and frankly never looked himself when he eventually returned to the field... overall the Ozil experiment has had mixed reviews and rightfully so, but I do have some empathy for the man because he has always carried himself the same way, whether for Real or the German National
team, yet he has only suffered any lengthy down periods with Arsenal... to me that goes directly to this club's inability to surround him with the necessary
players to succeed, especially for someone who is a pass
first type of
player;
as such, this simply highlights our club's ineffective and antiquated transfer policies... frankly I'm disappointed in both Ozil and our management
team for not stepping up when it counted because they had a chance to do something special, but they didn't have it in them... there is no one that better exemplifies our recent history than Ozil, brief moments of greatness undercut by long periods of disappointing play, only made worse by his mopey posturing like a younger slightly less awkward Wenger... what a terribly waste
But when people are saying we should sign X-player who contributed well last season while playing every single game for «depth» sure, on paper it looks great, but a lot of
players hit patches of form that may not necessarily be given that opportunity here,
as there may be someone else in the squad who hits the ground running and contributes straight away... If Coquelin, Arteta, Flamini, Wilshere, Ramsey, AOC, Ozil, Cazorla, Rosicky are all
fit and firing, I think you're sorely mistaken if you think anything but a truly world - class midfielder would be looking at those names and not potentially evaluating their
first -
team opportunities.

As our special injury page on Just Arsenal shows, Arsene Wenger is currently having to do without seven
first team players in Wilshere, Welbeck, Sanchez, Rosicky, Cazorla, Coquelin and Arteta and that is only because our French midfielder Mathieu Flamini is set to be

yes get rid most of the
players we have
as most of them are not
fit enough or good enough to wear the Arsenal shirt with pride, and yes a manager who will build a great
first team, that everyone will fear, and have a great youth set up.
There has been talk that Arda Turan could well be targeted
as another
player who could take Ozil's place in the Arsenal
first -
team, but a
fit Wilshere would be more than able to bring that creative flair into our side.
My concern is where and how he
fits in — the arrival of Sanchez has made his path to the
first team a whole lot trickier, and he strikes me
as a
player who would benefit from a run of games.
Thereafter Blackpool were the dominant force, and rightly so with a numerical advantage, and it was
fitting that a

first -
