I was thinking of trying to install some setup very similar to a kitchen sink drain: Some drain
flange with a waterproof sealant underneath which drains straight through to the ground.
After removing the hose side of the housing, I noticed that the thermostat seemed to look a bit too small for the opening, and measured that the engine side of the housing opening was about 52.5 mm, while the thermostat
flange with rubber seal measured only 49.25 mm.

Some new moms experience nipple pain while their nipples get used to breastfeeding and expressing, and lightly lubricating the inside of
your flange with some coconut or olive oil may help.
They provide only one sized
flange with their pump, and much of the time you can't even change it out for a different size!

However, some others, like Beth from Jogging Stroller Mom, point out that there are some disadvantages too: e.g. larger
flanges didn't fit through correctly and the fabric bunched and was noticeable
with a solid colour shirt.
I DO like their angled
flanges so am using them instead of the ones that came
with my Medela.
Some of the mamas in my community report fewer issues
with recurrent plugged ducts when using these
flanges.
Purchase a breast pump
with multiple
flange sizes.
This is great for reducing the amount of parts to clean and fiddle around
with, but if you're using a pumping bra consider that you will need to be able to slide the
flange into pumping bra.
Most pump kits come
with a 24 mm
flange.

You don't need to undress to use it fully, and the bra's openings are maneuverable so that you can insert the pump

The day after Wesley was born, a nurse wheeled the whooshing machine into my room, along

Some Lactation Consultants recommend this type of nipples because the baby is able to

with the right pump and proper

with your pump are right for you.
Wash each part that comes in contact
with your breast and milk including the
flanges, milk storage containers (unless you intend to pump directly into bags such as the Store and Pour Ameda breastmilk storage bags), valves, and diaphragms.
So, to prevent nipple pain and breast damage from your breast pump, use pump
flanges that fit correctly and start out
with a lower, slower level of suction.
