Flat fold diapers are not water proof diapers and do require a cover.

flat fold diapers are really a great addition to any stash.

I would recommend giving the fitted cloth
diaper a try if you have a heavy wetter, are looking for a good night time
diaper, or don't want to deal with
folding prefolds or
flats.

Diapers like this post might work), and then wool pants (I'm now in love with Humbird, but I used Disana back in the day)
I've been integrating our
flats into our
diaper rotation for a few weeks now but I have to admit I'm quite a lazy
flats folder - I usually stick with the pad
fold because I can't remember how to do the others (origami or kite
fold) without referring back to a diagram or video.
