You could use a vanilla -
flavored rice milk, although I didn't try it because I wanted to ensure the strawberry flavor was the most dominant.
In purchasing ingredients I inadvertently bought vanilla
flavored Rice Milk and can report that the strawberry flavor was in no way compromised by the vanilla in the rice milk.
I use vanilla
flavored rice milk with 1 pack of stevia in a cup with a half teaspoon of instant decaf coffee.
Rice milk is primarily made from brown rice and is usually not sweetened, although
flavored rice milks, such as vanilla or chocolate, are becoming more common.
Not exact matches
I have also made the following successful modifications: sometimes I omit the ginger and scallions, up the coconut to one cup and sub half coconut
milk for water, this makes for a less complex but more intensely coconut
flavored rice.
Very mild in
flavor the way it was, so next time I will probably do 1.5 - 2x of everything for a more intensely
flavored rice, and I think I will cook the
rice with coconut
milk instead of water to up the coconut
flavor.
