The red pepper flakes
add a touch of
flavor and no heat to the recipe but if you are nervous about then still, remove them from the recipe and
add a pinch of
black pepper in it's place.
If you want it spicy you can
add chili, or
add more
black garlic to bring out that
flavor.
Add black beans, taco meat, bell peppers, chili powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper and simmer for 15 minutes or so until peppers have softened and the

Be sure to pay special attention when seasoning — even after I've seasoned each component and baked it, I typically
add a little more salt and a lot of freshly ground
black pepper to my own plate — it really brings out the
flavor.
By
adding black beans and corn, you can amp up the protein, fiber, and
flavor.
In the kitchen the
black gojies can also be used in stews or as delicious ingredient with meat (pork, chicken or fish), just
add a handful of berries 15 minutes before the meat is done for a delicious sweet
flavor.
To keep the winter
flavors rolling, I've spiced my

To «gotchabarbara»... the addition of your spices seems like a great idea (the
black peppercorns, allspice berries, and cinnamon sticks), but it seems to me if you want the TRUE
flavor of a preserved Meyer lemon, you would preserve it as directed, as the
added spieces / aromatics might end up interfering with whatever you choose to do with them later.
* I didn't have spicy sausage so I just used sage
flavored sausage and made it spicy by
