flavoured milk out of kids lunches (School Dinners) and explaining to people that a hot chip is not counted as a vegetable serving (The Food Revolution & The Ministry of Food).

I made this and it was delicious though I think «cooking
out» the spices at the start before the coconut
milk is added etc would make the
flavours really zing
This smoothie incorporates homemade almond
milk and a dash of almond extract to bring
out the
flavour.
The two whole cinnamon sticks crushed in to the
milk are so fragrant and really change this cake, so don't leave
out this
flavour!
Unless you are going to take the chance and set
out your
milk and let it sour / ferment / «yogurtise» naturally - many times - till you get something with a acceptable
flavour - buy your starter or cadge it off someone.
Once you got all the liquid
out transfer the
milk back the blender and add the maple syrup and the vanilla (or the
flavour of your choice) and blend again until it's all smooth.
But if a sweet ripe mango is
out of reach where you live, you can omit it — the bright
flavours of the kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass and coconut
milk will do a wonderful job on their own.
I made this tonight with 1 cup coconut
milk, 2 cups full cream
milk & 1 cup skim
milk & it was EXTREMELY creamy;) Delicious but I would recommend anyone who doesn't like that marzipan
flavour to leave
out the almond - I have essence rather than extract & it's just awful for some reason!
1 3/4 cup of white spelt
flavour (this is my favourite flour to make waffles with as they turn
out really fluffy) 1 1/4 cup of creamy almond
milk 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil 3 tablespoons of maple syrup 1 tablespoon of One Earth Vanilla Villa blend — if you can't find it add 1 teaspoon of vanilla powder or extract 1 teaspoon of baking powder a pinch of pink Himalayan salt or sea salt
Swap
out the cows
milk for whatever
milk you prefer if you want it to be dairy free and experiment with
flavour combinations to suit your mood.
Coconut
milk added at the end of the recipe creates a nice fullness and additional
flavour, however if coconut is not your thing then feel free to leave it
out as it tastes pretty good with
out it too.
I didn't want to add too much extra sugar to balance
out the bitter raw cacao powder, so these swoonuts are more of a
milk chocolate
flavoured donut — perfect for those who don't like a heavy dark chocolate
flavour.
It is now widely available in many
flavours and in both unsweetened and sweetened versions, however many of these contain lots of additives and stabilisers so it is always best to make your own when you can (check
out my recipe for homemade nut
milk).
I do get disappointed when I point
out to parents that
flavoured milk has more sugar than pop.
Obviously, the soy
milk is
out of question; I don't have experience with using rice
milk, but I suspect you would get less
flavour.
It's a simple, but irresistible,
flavour combination that I just had to try
out as a plant - based recipe by using coconut
milk in place of cream.
