While the Democratic incumbent for State Comptroller, Tom DiNapoli, has rejected the pilot
public finance program as
flawed and unworkable, the newly announced Republican Candidate for Comptroller, says he's going to take advantage of the
public matching small donor system.
More immediately, however, the significant
flaws in Part H, subpart D, Title II of S. 6355 - D / A.8555 - D (related to the
public matching system for comptroller) show that it is not adequate even as a pilot program, let alone a sufficient response to corruption in Albany.
