Almond and
flax meal have a higher natural fat content
so they can get crispy when sautéd without oil, just be sure to use a very low temperature because they are also more likely to burn.

I would say
flax meal is the best alternative (this recipe uses
flax: Keto Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal) but then you can't eat
flax so I'm not sure.

I personally thought it was going rancid very quickly even when left at room temperature
so i would never cook with
flax meal as their heated (and re heated when toasting the bread) oils would be rancid therefore toxic.
However,
flax meal does have some oil content,
so I'd be careful about adding too much.
I did not have hemp seeds on hand (I'll have to check the grocery store for them the next time I go)
so I just used

so to replace honey, I used 1/2 cup Swerve (sugar replacement) & 1.5 tbsp

so if you waited a bit before cooking, that also may have caused some issues.
Try one of my go - to smoothies made with brazil nut milk (
so easy, rinse and soak the nuts overnight then toss them in a blender with 3:1 water to nut ratio and blend - you can strain out the nut
meal or keep it in for some fiber content), spirulina, banana, strawberry and
flax oil.
So I made these with a cup each of almond flour and
flax meal because I only had a cup of almond flour left, and did the method of whipping the egg whites.
I like to use
