Although it's not a remake, it pays tribute to Sergio Corbucci's 1966 Spaghetti Western Django, not only in name but in its use of the title song - which opens this
movie as it opened that one - and in the
fleeting appearance of the original's game star, Franco Nero (pictured below right).
A few days ago a rumour surfaced claiming to offer details on Carnage's role in Sony's upcoming Venom solo
movie, with the report claiming that the character of Cletus Kasady would make a
fleeting appearance towards the end of the film.
In fact, the Farrellys offer only
fleeting glimpses of Rosemary's true
appearance for most of the picture, and even then, at a distance or only in part — another wise move, for when we finally do get a good look at Paltrow in full makeup (which, it must be said, is nowhere on par with, say, the work on Eddie Murphy in The Nutty Professor
movies), one doesn't laugh at her since one has gotten to know Rosemary so well.
