on domestic and international
flights to take with a friend, relative, or
partner!
Since JetBlue doesn't have any airline
partners, remember that points you earn specifically for your TrueBlue account are only redeemable
on JetBlue
flights.

flights within the U.S. don't have any fuel surcharges, so you don't have to worry about this if you use Miles & More to book a
flight on partners like United and US Airways within the United States.
You're able to book American Airlines
flights with Avios since they are

You may still book
flights on Star Alliance
partner Singapore Airlines using United Mileage Plus miles, but you must call the service center to
do so.

As you can see, the lack of major U.S.
partners doesn't mean you can't book an award
flight on a U.S. carrier if they offer the best route to your destination.
United doesn't charge fuel surcharges

did raise the cost to fly
partners in premium cabins.
There is an added element to all of this that really causes confusion — it's what happens when you try to book an award with an airline that doesn't charge «surcharges» and you then select
flights on that airline's
partner that
does.
They sure used an awful lot of language in an attempt to put a positive spin
on these changes, but the bottom line is that we are now dependent
on United's award booking engine, which doesn't pull in all
partner flights, excludes many routings, and has a difficult time with itineraries of three or more legs.
You can use any British Airways
partner for short
flights in Europe, and you can even use carrier itself, as it doesn't tack
on fuel surcharges for its European
flights.

on how flyers can attain those tiers but we

Most of the rest of the Membership Rewards airline
partners (such as Air France, ANA, Aeroplan) charge stupid fuel surcharges
on most of their
flights, which makes them mostly useless for those of us who are so cheap that we don't even want to pay a few hundred dollars for a premium redemption.
