First - person jumping puzzles absolutely blow, especially when being fired at and with
floaty controls
Similar management games such as Darkest Dungeon suffered the same fate that
floaty controls do not mesh well when what you need is tight and organised design to effectively manage all the moving parts.
The designers at Delphine Software, who had never made a fighting game before, looked at Mortal Kombat's
floaty controls, odd physics, eccentric hit boxes, and strange timing, thinking that it was commonplace.
My nephews always LOVED little big planet but had some problems with
