Samsung's next phone will be a dual screen
device with a
foldable LCD screen.
Sony is testing the waters
with a
foldable tablet, and Readius has been flogging their flexible
device for a while now.
The much respected Samsung Galaxy tracking site Galaxyclub.nl in The Netherlands did some proper journalistic digging this week and came up
with several examples of interfaces from the patents for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy X, one of Samsung's first
foldable mobile
devices.
This yet to be released product called Jorno is a
foldable Bluetooth Keyboard that is set to work
with both BlackBerry smartphones and a whole slew of other
devices including most likely support for the PlayBook.
Well this
device is somewhat similar to the Echo, it is
foldable with a hinge in the middle, can be closed and used as a phone but the similarity ends there.
But the latter is just what we got
with the Sony Tablet P, a bizarre
foldable mobile
device that better resembled a palmtop computer than any «tablet» I'd ever seen.

with a limited launch in 2017, and see if customers really want
foldable devices.

foldable OLED panel.

foldable display technology.
Samsung has long been working on multiple designs for smartphones
with flexible and
foldable displays, and the company has filed various patents regarding such
devices.
With Koh stating that Samsung is planning a 2018 launch for its
foldable smartphone, it seems like the company is fast - tracking the
device's development.
But LG Display will compete
with Samsung for Apple orders in 2018 when it's expected to start mass - producing
foldable OLED screens that could equip smartphones and tablets
with curved displays, or
devices that can be folded.
It's unclear at this time when Google and Microsoft might release
devices with curved or
foldable screens.
While a phone launched by ZTE appears to offer something like a
foldable screen, it's in fact a two - display
device with a hinge, and not a
device with one screen that bends along.
