It took some time getting used to it, but by making it a habit that every morning I start a
load and by not really having a lot
of laundry to
fold it has made for an easier
laundry duty and it is pretty much kept up.
But I didn't get around to
folding the three
loads of laundry that are still sitting on the couch, there are dishes in the sink because the dishwasher is full and running.
Selfishly, it gave me extra time to finish
loading dishwasher or attacking the mountain
of laundry that needed
folding.
So I matched socks and helped her
fold as the
loads laundry came out
of the dryer.
I'm one
of those moms who likes to
fold her
laundry a certain way and can
load the dishwasher in like 3 minutes flat with an entire day's worth
of dishes.
Maybe that list will be household tasks like «put a
load of dishes in the dishwasher» or «
fold laundry and put it away.»
That means every cheese sandwich grilled,
load of laundry folded, sitz bath run, soothing tip given for better sleep, and changing station set up for more efficiency, we are thinking
of what will make our families feel competent and capable.
Even
folding a full
load of flats and stuffing pocket diapers only takes 7 minutes (yes I timed it) so it doesn't add a lot to your
laundry routine, but sometimes in any given week it doesn't happen right away — and that's okay.
In fact, the short list would include accidentally killing house plants, procrastinating until I have 8
loads of laundry to
fold, and cooking dinner one handed while holding a baby.
I have a gazillion photos from my trip to download onto Miss Mac, about a half dozen more
loads of laundry to wash and
fold, an entire week
of school to catch up on, and my first IIN test to study for!
I'm trying to finish up my current book (Counting on a Cowboy by Debra Clopton) and I'm watching tons
of YouTube videos to pass the time while I
load / unload the dishes and
fold lots
of laundry.
Upon coming inside with a very sore back and shoulder, I had to get the children out
of their snow gear, meet their demands for hot chocolate,

loads of laundry that were waiting, feed them dinner (albeit a frozen pizza), clean up dinner, do the bath and bedtime routine (which requires all
of mommy's attention when daddy is away).

Toss in a
load of laundry in the morning, move it to the dryer and use a timer to remind yourself to remove items and immediately
fold, hang and take to the proper location.
