What You Need to Know: Ben Wheatley certainly made an impression with his darkly funny family crime dramedy, «Down Terrace,» in 2010, and he
followed that up with the bold, unnerving hitman thriller «
Kill List,» which IFC will release on demand this January and in select theaters February.
Release Date: TBD, although the fast - moving Wheatley has suggested it might
follow «
Kill List» for a SXSW premiere
Anticipated by many as director Ben Wheatley «s
follow - up to the deviant and brutal «
Kill List,» a smaller group (including, and possibly consisting only of, me) were looking forward to it because it was written by and starred comedic hidden gems Alice Lowe and Steve Oram; the former a veteran of the great «Garth Marenghi's Darkplace,» the latter a live circuit favorite I last saw performing in a pub in Clerkenwell, wearing a dress and howling like a wolf.
Did Wheatley's
follow up film disappoint after coming off of the huge success of
Kill List, or did it solidify Wheatley's spot as one of the most exciting up and coming directors in the genre?
Whilst I seem to be in the minority and didn't like
Kill List, I'm looking forward to his
follow up.
