If
you follow education news you may nod knowingly, assuming this is yet another tale out of Eva Moskowitz's network of Success Academy charter schools, which have been roiled in recent weeks by exposes in The New York Times and PBS's NewsHour.
It's a story sadly familiar to anyone who
follows education news, but one that's usually associated with traditional school districts.
Those following the education news back in the 1990s may still remember the head - teacher who used school funds for personal holidays, luxury cars, trips on the Orient Express and most famously «90 pairs of shoes; enough to make Imelda Marcos proud,» while the pupils were left without books or heat.
