Amazon released an update weeks ago that added the same
font and

font choice (Georgia for example) you'll see choices, it's defaulted to «Regular» tap the down arrow and choose thicker, works well.
The user interface is clunky and slow, and there's no way to adjust the
boldness on embedded or sideloaded
fonts.
It doesn't matter how much better the Kindle software is and how much more polished it is if the lighting is off and the
fonts are frail and terrible with no
boldness and weight adjustment.
These
fonts convey
boldness, drama, and importance.
Now we should all complain that we want more
font options and a
boldness setting.
You now have ten
fonts with five levels of
boldness to choose from.
This was mentioned in the press release, and I thought it might get added to other Kindles with the latest update that added new
boldness settings and more
font sizes, but it wasn't included in the update so I guess it's going to be exclusive to the new Oasis, at least for now.
As mentioned in just about every Kobo vs Kindle comparisons review that I've done, one of the biggest differences with Kobo's software is they offer more
font choices and
font sizes, with a custom
boldness slider, and they offer more layout tools and you can sideload TTF and OTF
fonts.

Also it would've been nice if you done the review without The
boldness on the
font to see how the contrast is on the oasis because that's the biggest gripe right now, the lack of contrast.
Other Kindles from the Paperwhite 2 and newer will be getting the new
font choices and
boldness settings as well in a software update that's going to start rolling out today.
We got a larger screen, audiobook support, more storage space, waterproofing, better
font choices with
boldness options, and a lower price.
Amazon has also increased the number of customisation options available on the Oasis, including more type faces, a greater level of
boldness gradation and
font sizes and the ability to left - align text to better match the design of paper books.
Amazon has added six extra
font size levels, meanwhile, in addition to five levels of
