While I have no known

food allergy moms
do more than our fair share of baking and cooking from scratch.
My three year old
does have eczema, not related to her
food allergies, and I am just starting her on the regimen as well.
It's even more stressful when you feel like you don't have a lot of options due to

food allergies can't still enjoy them, too!

I get nervous now making
food for people I don't know - there are so many

We don't have any
allergies in our family, but I tend to avoid all processed
food and so end up making all the
food we eat on the go.
It doesn't matter what recipe I have, modifications still have to be
done due to my daughter's

food suggestions instead of breaking them down into these categories.
We
do use chunky soy nut butter, soy milk, and brown sugar in the recipe (this is due to my 4 year old having severe
food allergies.
It's something I've
done for my own Little Miss since she was first diagnosed with
food allergies and later a gluten intolerance.

This experience, though I know is the norm for those who don't have
food allergies and / or a history of disordered eating, feels like the biggest of victories for me, and one I don't take lightly.

Funny enough, I don't really have serious
food allergies, but I
do have a slight
allergy to sunflower seeds & pistachios.
I had no idea that excessively eating one
food could give you a
food allergy until I read Felicia's eloquent discussion of her avocado
allergy (really, her entire journey of overhauling her diet is fascinating and worth a read) and in
doing research since then, I've come across more and more anecdotes about similar occurrences.
The embarrassing part and good news is that I don't have a
food allergy, I'm allergic to my acne cream!
These look so terrific, even if you don't have any
food allergies at all!
