at a restaurant, and wish you had an endless supply to eat
at home, because it tastes so good and seems super complicated to make (I honestly just had some
at a restaurant, and wanted to order 10 more to take
home — I didn't, but I wanted too).
Two big post-detox surprises:
foods that I didn't cook
at home tasted over salted, and my immediate craving for something sweet after eating a meal, virtually vanished.

Do you have kids
at home that you are trying to transition from junk
food to nourishing real
food treats?
I find it faster to make pizza
at home than get delivery — my spouse timed me once, when we were hungry and he was debating ordering, and my homemade pizza was in the oven, minutes away from being
done,
at the time the delivery place would have dropped off our
food.
This weekend I'm excited to hang out
at home, knock a few things off of my to -
do list, and make some delicious
food, like these dreamy barbacoa tacos.
There is no need to repackage everything
at home in storage containers as I
do with the flimsy plastic bags most health
food stores provide.
These events will raise funds for Chef's Lucas» non-profit organization, «
Doing Good with
Food» that serves pediatric cancer patients and their families via restaurants and chef - designed meal kits for cooking
at home.
Getting in an early morning workout (more than stretching
at the hotel gym like I used to
do...), finding clean, nourishing
food makes allll the difference in how much I can accomplish, how well I can handle airport annoyances and travel chaos, my energy levels both during the trip and when I get
home, etc. etc..
I make my own batch of peanut butter
at home but as you said, it
does heats up the
food processor.
The great thing about homemade guacamole is not only
does it cost much less to make
at home, but it is super easy to make using just a
food processor.
Having said that, though, I nevertheless sometimes feel the need to develop my own take on a
food because (a) I just love it so much that I want it again
at home; (b) I may not be able to access it in stores where I live; or (c) I am so ticked off
at the price of the original item (and I know I could probably reproduce something almost the same
at home) that I feel I should
do so.
Just in case you don't know, tahini is just ground up sesame seeds and it's really easy to make
at home with just a
food processor or even a Vitamix.
We don't have a Chipotle too close to us, but that doesn't stop me from attempting to make
food like theirs
at home.
I don't make fried
foods at home very often (I believe my previous fried recipe on the blog was the Chipotle - style tofu sofritas in July 2014, and that was pan-fried, not deep fried).
And sometimes when we don't really want to eat out but still want to eat something different from our usual routine, I make Chinese
food at home.
Basically, it's the type of
food I like eating in restaurants but don't want to cook
at home.
I don't have a
food dehydrator nor
do I have the time to dedicate hours sprouting grains to create fabulous meals
at home.

Oh my goodness, I have to share with you some of the
food... it was unbelievable and don't think that I'm not going to try to recreate some of the yummies I ate
at the conference
at home (as a matter of fact, just finished up a delicious salad for lunch totally inspired by one of my dinners during the trip — recipe to come!!)
It was created out of a desire to improve my weekly
food budget and to experiment with additive - free, homemade non-dairy alternatives
at home that don't use nuts like most recipes call for.

done for The Sweet Life got put aside for my more important job as Mama.
