food crisis will recur when again the crops are less favorable; the danger is that it will then gradually take on an ever more permanent and disastrous dimension.
Meanwhile, countries like Kenya and Ethiopia
where the United States and aid groups have worked with governments to improve irrigation and other measures aimed at boosting
food security are faring far better in the
crisis.
This leads to greater chances of
food crises, particularly in nations
where land and water resources are scarce and therefore
food security strongly relies on imports.
