in business, the Town Kitchen prepares and delivers 300 to 500
boxed lunches to Bay Area businesses weekly, with an additional 250 to 300 catered meals prepared for corporate
food broker Zesty.
Pack

While we don't mind eating leftover supper for breakfast and leftover
lunch for supper we eat a variety of
foods depending on the season (the vegetables
in our veg
box change every week so we get the variety without too much planning on our part) and how we're feeling — so if we're cold and tired then we prefer cooked
food and when it's hot we enjoy plenty of raw
foods.

No matter what sort of
lunch bag or
box you use, you should definitely place some kind of ice pack
in it to keep the
food inside cold.
It doesn't have any animated characters on it, but it has two compartments, so you can pack hot and cold
foods in one convenient
lunch box.
These recipes can certainly be packed
in brown bags, but there are such wonderful and high tech insulated
lunch boxes and sacks on the market that have built
in food safety features: thermoses, a space to slip a pre frozen gel pack, even pockets for wet wipes and utensils.
They're great for labeling clothing,
lunch boxes, plasticware you put
food items
in and even your child's shoes so everyone can see your child has an allergy, medications (if any) the child requires and your contact information
in case of emergency.
Also, what if you send
in a
lunch box and happen to forget to put an ice pack
in it, how would we know how long that
food has been time temperature abused, how do we know how the
food was even prepared, what if a mom makes spaghetti and leaves the leftovers on the stove for two hours and thinks nothing about packing it
in the lunchbox for the next day.
With community support, we eliminated high - fructose drinks from school vending machines and banned sweets from classroom parties (a hard swallow for those drinking the same sugary punch as Cookie Crusader Sarah Palin); changed the tuition - based preschool
food offerings to allergy - free, healthful choices; successfully lobbied for a salad bar and then taught kids how to use it; enlisted Gourmet Gorilla, a small independent company, to provide affordable, healthy, locally sourced, organic snacks after - school and
boxed lunches; built a teaching kitchen to house an afterschool cooking program; and convinced teachers to give - up a union - mandated planning period
in order to supervise daily outdoor recess.
I used to pack his
