By keeping wholesome and nutritious
food in our
communities and out of our landfills, we can help address the 42 million Americans that live in
food insecure households.
The Census Bureau's American
Community Survey reports that 43 percent of the county's residents can't afford fair market rent, and some 44,000 are considered
food insecure, unsure where they will get their next meal, according to hunger relief agency Feeding America.
