The Trussell Trust, Britain's biggest provider of food banks, released figures in April stating that they had distributed more than 900,000
food parcels from 404 banks in 2013 - 14, a 163 percent rise from the previous year.
In excess of 23,500 people collected a three - day
food parcel from the Christian charity between 22nd and 24th December last year.
