Most importantly, though, it acts as open storage for many of my party supplies and
food photography props.
Paper straws are cute and all, but I've come to the conclusion that the only thing they're really good for is
food photography props.
I've been finding some really awesome places for
food photography props (I'm in the process of writing a post sharing all my finds) and this was one that I just couldn't resist.
I went to the local TJ Maxx and for less that $ 10 I scored two bowls and two towels (I usually keep it pretty inexpensive when it comes to
my food photography props).
All of my specially curated
food photography props, bowls, and spoons, were about 1,200 miles away safely wrapped and snuggled inside storage boxes waiting to be sent down.

I love antique markets, you can find so many awesome
props for
food photography, too.
Learning about different
props and styling ideas left me inspired to be more inventive and creative with my
food photography and it had me sitting at the edge of me seat all afternoon as I was eagerly awaiting the chance to apply what I had learned in my own
photography.

I love photographing
food (and studying
food photography) because I love seeing all of the elements (like the right lighting, camera angle, focus,
props, ingredients, and garnishes) come together to produce a beautiful image.
