Hi Zachary, I don't know the answer and I don't think there is any recommended amount on a low - carb diet (if we ignore the
dietary recommendations based on the current
food pyramid).
But, also, our government betrayed us with the false
food pyramid and other false
dietary guidelines.

It doesn't matter what
food philosophy or
dietary guidelines you follow - «traditional / real
food», paleo / low carb, or the government sponsored
food guide
pyramid - they all advocate eating more vegetables, especially leafy greens.
If you want to stay healthy it's important to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and follow the
food pyramid with its
dietary guidelines.

The concept of using the
food pyramid to demonstrate different
dietary guidelines spread throughout other countries like Japan, Denmark and Sri Lanka.
Many countries have their own version of the
food pyramid, and often these
dietary guidelines are slightly different from one country to the next.
Certain eating recommendations have been made for people with specific medical conditions, and
food pyramids have actually been designed to represent these
dietary guidelines.
And in his
food pyramid, meat and dairy and eggs are in the point with sugar, oils, etc. it's obviously an effective strategy, because people are more open to
dietary suggestions that don't entirely restrict animal products.
