To understand why to choose whole

Controversy
over saccharin and cyclamate as artificial
sweeteners still exists but aspartame and acesulfame are used extensively in many
foods in the United States.
First of all, the less of any
sweetener you can use, the better... if you can slowly
over time adjust your taste buds to enjoy the natural taste of
foods and drink without the need for heavily sweetening them, you'll see many benefits for your body including maintaining more stable blood sugar and insulin levels, managing your body weight, and reducing inflammatory effects of too much sugars and artificial

Bray also discusses the fact that sweetened beverages in general, as compared to
sweeteners added to solid
foods, have a greater tendency to cause weight gain, citing a randomized, double - blind European study by Rabin and others, which found that drinking calorically sweetened beverages resulted in greater weight gain
over the ten - week study than did drinking diet drinks.8 Since the beverages in this study were sweetened with sucrose, Bray called for a second randomized controlled study to compare sucrose - and HFCS - sweetened beverages.
Rather than using the more expensive
sweetener table sugar,
food and beverage manufacturers have substituted corn syrup in everything from soda - pop to baked goods
over the past 30 years.
Easier said than done, since it's found in
over 6,000
foods, apparently making artificial
sweeteners impossible to completely eradicate from daily exposure.
According to more than 100 scientific studies conducted
over a 20 - year period, sucralose has been demonstrated to be safe as a
food sweetener.
First, the researchers found that the total
food eaten
over 14 days dramatically increased in the artificial
sweetener group — meaning that the artificial
sweetener stimulated their appetite and made them eat more.
