Selling without
gallery representation seems to be more successful
for those who make art that is easily comprehended by the general public, mainly because those sorts of buyers are buying only to please themselves, decorate homes or businesses, etc..

for embracing such art as it begins to extend to the marketplace, with an auction at Christie's and

I personally know one New York artist who ended up with a solo show and

for the vast majority of art school grads.
