Women Religious into a form of ecclesiastical receivership, appointing Seattle Archbishop J. Peter Sartain to oversee the LCWR until its statutes and program are reformed, Tom Fox, a major figure at the National Catholic Reporter
for decades, had this to say:

Some say marriage is fundamentally

religious freedom to choose whether they allow or recognise same - sex unions or not.
We're dealing with one candidate who advocates a
religious test
for welcoming refugees (and potentially citzenship) and who, at the very least, has a history of mysogony and objectifying
women.
This type of
religious zealot dribble and criticizing is what causes war, death and hatred
for fellow man /

Raimundo Panikkar in his great collection of Vedic texts

What does that mean
for men and
women today: what is the place of

It's been my experience that
religious zealots of all creeds, but here in the U.S. mostly white Christians, are the first ones to throw
women, children, old people and the disabled under the bus financially so they can grab bigger tax breaks

And of course there are tons of
women and a lot of men who quietly just go about being celibate, or just decide against sex
for a period of time
for a wide range of reasons... health, a loss of a partner, not found someone they want to engage with yet,

Interesting that the Pope has so much tolerance
for the males in his priesthood who are gay, but so LITTLE tolerance
for the
women in
religious orders who just want to serve in the way they feel called.
Everything changed after the Vatican publicly scolded The Leadership Conference of
Women Religious, an umbrella group
for U.S. nuns,
for allowing «radical feminist themes» to go unchecked a conferences and in their literature.
Yet Sister Florence insists that there are «inconsistencies» in the Church's explication on the role of
women, especially
women religious, and such inconsistencies are what ultimately drive Sister Florence and the LCWR in their search
for «equality» in the Church.
The church and the pope are responsible

women and bomb clinics, I hope somebody will start crying out against your beloved «
religious freedom» and then...????
Many of that day thought it highly improper
for women to engage in
religious work, but the outstanding service of nurses during the war helped to change things.
It is only by changing
religious and secular text which informs such notions
for new citizens will this change and finally
women will own God on equal terms.
It's always best if
women don't involve at all in
religious leadership positions except
for certain emergencies.
