Identify those characteristics that made some texts more suitable than others
for close reading lessons.
With the 2018 Winter Olympics approaching, I was searching for material that I could use
for a close reading lesson with my students that was not copyrighted.

Since then I have picked a thing or two about baking with yeast, but I'm mostly thankful
for all the
lessons and yeast and baking I've
read on Red Star Yeast site when I was desperate and
close to having a panic attack.
So how can we as teachers foster
close reading, overcome fear of the genre, and cultivate a love
for poetic language without getting bogged down in
lessons that feel like dissection labs?
Most suitable
for a KS4 class (mid-high ability) Lower sets / KS3 can access the
lesson by including some
close reading exercises with the use of a Dictionary and Thesaurus.
