Lots of bubbles in a baby shampoo will not defeat
treatment for cradle cap, but there's another concern with bubble and babies.
There's not much a doctor can really
do for cradle cap, and unless it's causing your baby discomfort or is very severe and spreading past the scalp, it can be treated at home.
NOS: nursing pillow, bibs, bottles + nips (NUK is good brand), changing table, cream / jelly, diaper genies, hooded towel, 1sta id kit, bulb syringe, baby
brush for cradle cap (just put sbaby soap on washcloth and lightly scrub every night), sling, bouncy seat, white noise, mobile, nightlight (kid's aren't born afraid of the dark, don't get them used to this).
Over-the-counter treatments are
available for cradle cap, but you can also help treat this condition with your breast milk.
Another common home
remedy for cradle cap is to rub in a little baby oil or mineral oil into your baby's scalp, leave it on for 10 or 15 minutes, which should soften the scales, brush off the scales with a soft brush, and then shampoo off the oil.
How to treat it: Wash your bub's hair daily with a medicated shampoo or mineral oil; use a special
lotion for cradle cap; and brush her hair with a soft brush to help loosen the scales.
Tested and loved by cloth diapering parents, this soothing balm is also
fantastic for cradle cap, and dry skin on mum and dad too!
At this point, my favorite
oil for cradle cap is also one of my favorite things to put on my face: Herbivore's Lapis Oil.
When
treatment for cradle cap is necessary, most experts recommend that you begin with home remedies, such as frequently shampooing your baby's hair with a mild baby shampoo and then using a soft brush to try and brush off the scales.
For cradle cap, get the shampoo that has 1 % hydrocortisone cream and salicylic acid.
For Cradle Cap: Gently massage 1 - 2 tsp.
I would definitely recommend both of these products as a preventive and healing treatment
for cradle cap or to keep your little one's hair healthy and tangle - free.
