There are a few things that could cause the caramel to be too runny: — adding water to the sugar
for the caramelisation part (in this recipe, you melt and caramelise the sugar with no water added; if you do add water, it might end up runnier), — not «caramelising» the sugar enough (but that changes the consistency by only a few percent), — not cooking the butter and caramelised sugar mixture long enough (it really needs to be a few minutes), — not using double
cream but whipping
cream or something with a lower fat content, — not allowing the caramel to set in the fridge
for a few hours (the caramel should set into a sticky
layer that should be able to be cut and isn't runny).
Now
for the moment of truth — once your chocolate
layer has been in the freezer
for a day, put a plate or cake plate on top of the ice
cream cake and flip the whole thing over, so it's all resting on the plate now.
Banana ice
cream is
layered onto a vanilla cookie crust and topped with a coconut whipped
cream for a tasty and refreshing treat!
Once fries are cooked and have cooled
for 1 - 2 minutes,
layer them on large platter or two separate plates, top with black bean vegetarian chili mixture, then sprinkle with shredded cheese -LCB- I used aged cheddar -RCB-, drizzle with sour
cream, and garnish with sliced avocado.
Once cool, milk will have a thin
layer of
cream at the top and that was my delicious creamy spread
