I can't make any solid recommendations
for flour substitutions since I haven't tried any others in this recipe, but others have reported success swapping soy flour or all - purpose flour for chickpea flour in other recipes.
Any suggestions

I know that many of you are pulling out your old favorite recipes and wondering what to do with them (I've had many questions lately about rules of thumb
for flour substitutions, and alternatives for those with nut or egg allergies).

I didn't have arrowroot
flour, so I used almond
flour, and I couldn't find any dates
for some reason, so I used raw honey, and I don't like nuts in brownies, so I didn't use pecans, and I didn't have any hazelnut butter and didn't want to buy any because it's expensive, so I didn't frost them, but these are fantastic even with the
substitutions and without the frosting, wow.
I made a couple
substitutions — I filled the 1/3 cup up half way with maple syrup first, then the other half of the way with honey; I used 1 cup whole wheat
flour and 1/2 cup unflavored protein isolate powder; I substituted quinoa
for the millet.
I subbed quick cooking oats
for 1/2 of the
flour (equal
substitution) and used a bit more banana and pumpkin to add a bit of extra moisture.
I think better batter will probably be a good option
for white
flour substitution, but I used almost exclusively whole wheat
flours before and can't get past using so much pure carb, no / low protein stuff primarily.
I made a
substitution for the maple syrup with coconut sugar (3/4 of a cup) and gluten / dairy free
flour instead of coconut
flour.

I just made these heavenly brownies and did the following
substitutions:
For every ounce of chocolate I used 3 tablespoons of cacao powder I added 4 tablespoons water and 2 extra teaspoons coconut oil since I used cacao powder Instead of arrowroot starch or
flour, I used one egg (sorry vegans!)
We made a few perhaps less «authentic»
substitutions —
flour tortillas were better texture-wise to our liking versus corn, but you could certainly use corn, especially
for a gluten - free recipe!

This is a great recipe as is, and also works well with some healty

This is basically made with coarse rye
flour, but as I couldn't get it here, I went

flour or refined sugar, I've spent a lot of time learning which
substitutions work and which don't.
It gets a little tricky when recipes only call
for a cup or less of
flour, but I generally replace 1/4 to 1/3 of white
flour with oat
flour and do a whole wheat
flour substitution for the rest.
Substitution tip:
For best results replace 1 cup of white
flour with 1/2 cup whole wheat and 1/2 cup spelt.

for almond
flour, i don't always know if a flax egg will work
for egg, etc. i work very hard to create the delicious recipes to share with you and too many
substitutions makes the recipe different than what i set out
for it.

flour» — I would assume that means whole wheat pastry
flour but want to check it out before I make what I was absolutely craving
for this morning but it's too late since I ended out with a piece of really good rye bread and lots of butter with a little sprinkle of sugar --(not even a
substitution but...).
You can sub white rice
flour for brown rice
flour but almond
flour substitutions get a little trickier (often sorghum
flour works 1:1 but not always).
I live in England and we don't use pumpkins very much at all, basically they're in the shops
for a couple of weeks around Halloween and that's it, and it's pretty much impossible to buy canned pumpkin puree here, so I boiled the pumpkin and then liquidised it to make the puree, and I had to make a few other
substitutions for things I didn't have - I used creme fraiche instead of yogurt, dark brown sugar instead of light, and cake
flour doesn't exist here so I just used plain white
flour.
;P Normally I'm ALL about
substitutions, and go out of my way to offer subs
for anything and everything possible, but coconut
flour is simply in a category all its own; no getting around it.

substitutions between all purpose and bread
flour, however I strongly recommend using bread
flour for this recipe because I promise....

flour substitutions, you can adapt many of your favorite recipes
for your new gluten - free lifestyle.

substitutions for the coconut
flour and coconut oil here.
However, I don't know if this recipe will work with
substitutions for coconut
flour, eggs, or any of the other ingredients.
For those of you wondering about
substitutions, I tried replacing the cashews with almond
flour in this Banana Chocolate Chip Pancake recipe and it did not work.
Another
substitution that works well
for the soda bread is golden flax meal
for 1/4 of the almond
flour.
