Getting past her relatively small repertoire and several somewhat repetitive
pictures and compositions, I applaud Joumana Accad's philosophy of
food and the resulting gorgeous dishes she shares with us: Far from trying to impress anyone with blockbuster recipes or images, she accomplishes precisely the opposite, which is great news
for us, the home cooks, whose corner she is resolutely in: Unapologetically simple, wholesome, sizzling fresh and natural, eminently doable, wherever you happen to be, however harried you might be.

Also, it's become pretty painfully apparent that it's time to stop using my cell phone camera
for all of these
food pictures.

I know it's Monday morning and you probably came here
for some pretty
pictures of
food that you could glance at, and then move on with your day... and here I go thrusting warm, soft cinnamon sugar bread in your face.
But this recipe looked so good (I'm such a sucker
for a good
food picture), I couldn't help but give it a chance.
I've heard of cassoulet many times before, but
for whatever reason, it just never appealed to me; I guess it was just what you said, it always seems so heavy that I could never
picture a time when I'd need all that
food.
And
for me, someone who works full - time and blogs almost as much, getting together with my girlfriends
for some much needed catching up, over good
food and wine, well I'd rather savor all of that, than worry about pretty
pictures for later.
I hardly ever take
pictures of my dinner because natural light works best
for food photography (at least
for me) so I shut down my camera when daylight starts to wane.
