Most games have to deal with localization, but few games rely so exclusively on text not just for narrative concerns but
for fundamental gameplay.

I'm not sure if we should settle
for «less broken» when it comes to something so
fundamental to the
gameplay experience.
While visuals can certainly pick up any game, there's not much it can do
for a game that suffers from
fundamental gameplay issues.
Of course, the
gameplay is what matters — let's pretend we all believe that
for the sake of the rest of this review — and here again, you're pretty much playing a Super Smash Bros. clone minus Nintendo's unhinged Japanese creativity and minus the
fundamentals of the Super Smash
gameplay.
