Hi, I had two
home births at
home... and my reason
for birthing at
home was simple — I was pregnant — not sick, hospitals are
for sick people.
I have other friends who opted
for hospital births, but had very quick, gentle births and would have been great candidates
for birthing at
home.
In a
home birth you usually don't have to go to the hospital (though there's at least a 1 in 10 chance that you will), but you or yours have to buy all kinds of crap beforehand (
birthing pool, pads
for protecting your bedsheets from blood...), then clean up after labor, make food and clean up after each meal, talk with the midwife or whoever is attending you (husband??)

I'm still angry with the CNM that delayed it and tried to block it, and I'm furious that her mother tries to make her feel guilty
for having it and not
birthing at
home.
Should Cesearean delivery, like
home birth, be an issue of

I'm more concerned with my child's life than any doctor is, so preaching to mothers intent of
birthing at
home about what's best
for their families according to duplicitous shills and the hospitals they work
for is laughable.

home birth, show him some videos of births to visualize and prepare
for your being in labor and
birthing a baby.
Birthing pools are available at most hospitals and can also be hired or purchased
for use at
home.
Studies there (sorry, don't have any references on hand, I'll try to get them posted later) show that
home -
birthing in this setting is just as safe
for mother and child
for a first birth, and safer
for next births, than a hospital setting.

Hospital,

for you.
Many families want the advice and natural birth expertise that Midwives have to offer, and want to take advantage of a wealth of information about herbal, homeopathic and essential oil remedies, but would feel safer
birthing in a hospital or birth center setting, or perhaps have a physical condition that does not allow
for home birth.

birthing history and monitor you throughout pregnancy to verify that you are a low - risk candidate
for home birth.
I care
for babies
for a living, and am devestated when they come to my NICU from
birthing centers and

In order to receive the government «birth allowance» payment, a
home birthing mother must bring her baby in to a hospital within 24 hours of the birth, and then be admitted

for insurance companies and those without insurance, and increasing the likelihood of having a deeply empowering and profoundly positive, life changing pregnancy and birth experience.
Getting holistic prenatal through postpartum care and
birthing in one's own
home attended by a skilled midwife, is a refuge
for those who want to protect the normalcy and sanctity of pregnancy and birth.

More and more, women are asking
for hospitals to provide a
birthing pool or are providing their own when they decide to give birth at
home.
By becoming a member of the HBA you are supporting the very important cause of «
Home Birthing» in Ireland and advocating
for the rights of all women to choose when and how to give birth.
