We are a warm and inviting
center for play therapy, parenting support, family counseling and therapy for adults and couples.
I am pleased to announce we have a brand new group of board members with much excitement, passion and
love for Play Therapy.
For professionals
looking for play therapy clinical supervision, it can be difficult to know who to choose or where to start.
I often have parents come to my
office for Play Therapy services, and in our initial meeting the parents state their son or daughter is very angry and aggressive.
I needed this book
for a play therapy course, and it has opened up my mind to an assortment of wonder, insight, and information.
For children who
come for play therapy, very often they have found themselves vulnerable to forces outside their control that made them feel small or helpless.
Any child with a problem that needs intervention or modification (behavioral, psychological, interpersonal, and medical) would make a good
candidate for play therapy.
The big takeaway stat is a 74 - 83 % positive change in children
referred for play therapy — which of course comes as no surprise to us practitioners!
This is a very good book and is a recommended
buy for all play therapy trainees and also for experienced Play Therapists.
Some who wish to make faster progress will
opt for Play Therapy every week and in addition Parenting sessions twice per month.
Our offices include two family therapy rooms, a children's room
for play therapy techniques, a large group room, and a workshop room for training, seminars, and workshops.
This workshop will outline why supervision groups are
important for play therapy and play therapists, and help you determine some things to consider when establishing your own play therapy supervision groups.
Please note that
groups for Play Therapy are carefully selected according to kinds of difficulties, age and gender and so on.
Participants of this workshop will review potential concerns in obtaining
consent for play therapy treatment and maintaining the child - client's confidentiality, including working with mature minors and divorced parents.
There is no fee to participate in the discussion, but there is a
fee for play therapy credit ($ 10).
I am pleased to announce we have a brand new group of board members with much excitement, passion and
love for Play Therapy.
For clinical supervision it is sometimes required that the supervisor be from your discipline, but
for play therapy supervision, it is not required.
Kimberly presented for California Association
for Play Therapy at Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo.
Also this was my first Utah Association
for Play Therapy conference and I was impressed with the quality of the conference and the camaraderie I felt with fellow child and play therapists.
