There have been a number of instances where women have been kicked out of places
for public breastfeeding.
BETH WARREN: You know for me this article really struck me as mommy shaming and the mommy shaming has just got to stop because women are ashamed
for public breastfeeding or they are shamed for bottle feeding or they are shamed for what they are wearing or you went out too soon with your husband you are not going out enough.
As reported earlier by us there have been many incidents where breastfeeding mothers had to face prejudice

What type of bra is best
for public breastfeeding?
It was difficult for me to not only come to terms with my disdain
for public breastfeeding, but subsequently voice them out loud and with no remorse.
For public breastfeeding it's essential to have a nursing cover to help you feel modest and unexposed.
As much as they claim to be victimised
for public breastfeeding, FFing parents are frequently compared to child abusers, told that they are feeding their babies poison, that they don't deserve to have children and shown sensationalist «infographics» like the ones a few posts back which stated that formula fed babies are x times more likely to die within the first year of life without even accounting for the numerous confounding factors that would cause those numbers to be elevated in the first place.

for breastfeeding but can't you plan your feeding times around the one hour you go to church, or
for that matter, when you're out in
public?
Breastfeeding in
public, particularly in sacred sites such as churches, remains a sensitive issue
for families, as noted by a recent Religion News Service article.
We also advocate
for this type of everyday activity (
breastfeeding a child in
public) to be so utterly normal as to never raise a single eyebrow!
So I just don't get the «too much pressure to
breastfeed» when all around me are images of bottles, ads
for formula telling me a happy feeding makes a happy mom, bottlefeeding moms, moms and doctors and nurses telling new moms that formula is «just as good» and «not to feel guilty», women getting «the look»
for nursing in
public, or feeling weird about doing it (I sure did)-- to me, any pressure out there is NOT to
breastfeed, or do it as little as possible (not if it's not immediately easy or you don't love every minute, not past 6 mos, not in
public, not around male relatives and friends, not around children, not if you ever want to go out alone sometime...)
Of course, I am
for equal opportunity and equal rights when it comes to legal and
public - sphere issues, but the fact is, from 0 - 5, especially with regard to
breastfeeding, a mother plays a key role that is very different from a father.

An elderly couple across from us came over to thank me
for being brave enough to

public, telling me no one had the right to bother me and letting me know that I was doing the best possible thing
for my baby.
On the rare occasions that I

public, I was never harassed, and

for it!»

I'm still
breastfeeding for my girls and as far as nursing in
public is concerned I mean I had my babies like boom boom boom right, so there wasn't a lot of getting out of the house.

We recognize that not every mom is immediately comfortable

public, so here are some tips
for increasing your comfort level:
The Equalities Act 2010 in the UK creates a clear protection
for breastfeeding women, in that service providers (including all
public services, as well as restaurants and cafés) can not refuse to provide an equal service to a
breastfeeding woman, and this applies no matter what the age of the child.
The executive committee will then turn to the section when it needs to construct a policy on that specific issue;
for example, the majority of information on infant feeding that gets filtered through to the
public via the AAP website is written by the Section on
Breastfeeding.
The guidelines repeatedly reference
breastfeeding quotas, instructs healthcare facilities to keep formula «out of view of patients and the general
public,» and uses insulting language such as, «human milk fed through the mother's own breast is the normal way
for human infants to be nourished.»
What's more, you will be part of a very special legacy, contributing to an ever more positive reaction to
public breastfeeding for those mothers who will nurse their babies in the future.
It is wonderful to think that those mothers who already feel confident to do so (and no mother should feel any pressure to feed her child in
public) will continue to find their own preferred degree of comfort and discretion and
breastfeed their children in
public whenever and wherever it is right
for them.
There's something about a
breastfeeding mother and child that stirs deep and wistful memories of days gone by and becomes a visible role model
for other mothers wondering if it is «okay» to do that in
