I disagree.A wingback can be viewed as a defensive winger.Whether the Ox likes it or not he's been blessed with the
qualities of a winger. To me that's his best position. He's only doing well as a wingback because of his
attacking abilities. As I said earlier a wingback can be viewed as a sort of defensive winger. That's why CB's who are used as RB or LB can not play wingback.Wingback needs the player to be able to adapt himself like a winger while also being solid defensively.Ox has the
attacking part but not the defensive part. With Bellerin we have the best of both worlds. He can
attack, defend and also has the speed necessary to play wingback.I fear Ox being played at wingback will cost us when we play teams with tricky wingers. He should rather be challenging Sanchez or Ozil
for their positions and not wingback. The guy hates to always have to defend which
in truth he can't.

Uhh guessing this is a question from football retards exam night... We have one

the cheese eating surrender monkey has screwed up again we all know that now so we have to hope to get our real
quality players performing to full potential that is ozil sanchez wishere carzola... i am not sure there is a combo with all four and at this moment wilshere and sanchez are the only ones looking pretty decent and as wellbeck needs to be integrated those positions are settled... i am a big ozil fan and really believe wenger is failing to get best out of him by playing him out of position so cant we play some kind of diamond with him at the top feeding to a front line of sanchez and wellbeck...
for me neither flamini nor arteta add anything to the team so i think playing to

The bottom line this summer
in Arsenal signings is Le Prof MUST sign a top
quality holding /
attacking midfielder of Goretzka's caliber to fully complement his entire starting XI team next season and just limits himself to the signings of Kolasinac and Lacazette alone which if he does without signing a top
quality holding /
attacking midfielder, his starting XI team next season could be understrength at midfield as Santi Cazorla won't be available
in the first half of the season and Elneny can't be relied on to deliver high performances
for Arsenal on consistent basis.

qualities in some areas especially
in defense and

for my quick view our AM with the exceptional of Mesut Ozil tend to dribble too often than looking
for a killer pass, people may talk about Sanchez to be there but
for me he is a better option among the available midfielders, however the only proper number 10 we have is Mesut Ozil.
It's obvious
for me that arsenal need 4 players to become a world class team like bayern and real madrid i couldn't dare mention barcelona because they have unbelievable front three and they maybe the best
attack in history of football we are lacking
quality in the ST as well as the RW of course giroud and campvell are very good players but
in my opinion they are less
in quality than the rest of the team so we need to improve the
quality in these positins About the DM it's a number issue and i think the position is covered with flamini doing good job and elneny coming which can be deployed there About the fourth signing we need is a center back I don't think i saw till now enough minutes
for gabriel to tell if he can make the position his own or not But what makes me doubt him that wenger didn't choose him till now over per which means he is not miles ahead of him so i think we need a new better CB This team can go and fight
for every thing even the champions leafue....
A quiet game by his standards, but Alexis Sanchez showed some moments of
quality for Arsenal upfront, perhaps not playing
in his best position on the right - hand side of the
attack.
It promises to be an open and exciting game between these two sides given the
attacking quality that they both possess, and it could be even more exciting now that Kompany is not
in the equation to keep things tight at the back
for the hosts.
who knows whether a disgruntled Sanchez plus an untested lacazette will produce a better
attack than last year and while I have hopes
for kolasinac its already clear there will be teething issues with him... but the point is we are not fighting last year's battles we are
in this year's EPL against teams that have strengthened over the summer and it was wingers job to bring real
quality to two key areas where we have clearly fallen behind
in midfield and central defence..
Kicker have also linked Bailey as a transfer target
for Arsenal, and they could certainly do with an
attacking player of his
quality after losing Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United
in January.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer
for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense
in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can
attack the defensive lanes
in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess
in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive
qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself
in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required
in the offensive zone
for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling
in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as
for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played
for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points
in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis
in a more advanced role on the pitch... as
for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself
in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him
in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive
in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players
in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-
attack offence
in Real or the space and protection he receives
in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived
in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components...
in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them
in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion
in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin
in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation...
in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad
for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often
in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and
in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class
qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place
in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
But Bellerin's
attacking qualities are really strong...
For a RB he makes intelligent
attacking decisions while passing, has no fear
in taking defenders on and is blessed with as much rapid pace, if not more, than our other wingers.
not bad players just average ones and slightly above average
in girouds case... but because they have spearheaded
attack for nigh on 5 years is one reason why arsenal have underperformed... we needed two
quality attackers this window and adding one ai nt going to swing it our way but sadly seems like the yoghurt man has past his sell by date but still deluding himself that he has a first X!
exactly my point, we arsenal fans are so retarded that we think having lacazette on the bench is bad, but if it's manchester city everyone will say it's
quality in squad depth, we always criticise mourinho
for playing defensive football but want simeone to come and be our coach, someone who can not
attack against a team as weak as leganes or alaves.
Theo, is barely even EPL
quality, probably best suited
for a QPR and yet he prominently features (OX is trash as well)
in our
attack week to week on a side that reportedly has ambitions.
Chelsea have a poacher of the highest
quality which might make up
for any shortcomings
in attack, when compared to our side.
Lack of
qualities in some areas especially
in defence and
attacking minefields, here you may expect me to talk about DM instead of AM but
for my quick view our AM with the exceptional of Mesut Ozil tend to dribble too often than looking
for a killer pass, people may talk about Sanchez to be there but
for me he is a better option among the available midfielders, however the only proper number 10 we have is Mesut Ozil.
However, the fact that Wenger went
for Vardy
in the first place, even though his main
quality as a counter
attacking threat is not really all that suited to the way the Gunners play, suggests to me that our boss is not entirely sure what he wants, just that he wants to add to his current options.
have to say i thought monreal was our most consistent player and deserves a 6... the rest were 5 or less with mert ramsey and ozil (and i love this guy) all on 3 wqalcott gets a 2
for showing up which is all he did (not bad days work
for a 140 grand)... as most have been saying
for 3 years or more a
quality attacking option and a
quality DM are essential
in next 2 weeks... 60 m at least needs to be put down on the table
Ainsley Maitland Niles
in his two or so matches a CM has shown me that he can protect the back four and
attack very well. Why is Wenger destroying the player at LB?I remember also telling everyone here earlier
in the season that we should change our formation to four back and that Monreal and Kolasinac shouldn't be
in the same team as one has to be rested and deputise
for the other.I don't care how consistent Monreal is and to me he has no CB
qualities. He at times looks almost world class at LB but to me he has no
qualities of a CB.Why is Xhaka also starting?Coquelin is twice the player he is
for the role Xhaka should be playing.
whatever you think of ramsey... and
in my books he is a decent b2b but certainly not top class... he is not going to control the area between edge of box and centre line which is what all great DMs do... nor has coquelin proved that to me... he is a guttusso type player and has improved massively
in that role... not convinced it is what will take us to challenging
for titles however which is why a cavalho type DM is a needed addition especially as arteta and flamini are obviously not up to the task... but have always said that wengers job is to get best out of ozil santi and wilshere who are the real creative world class strengths of this squad... they need protection behind them and options
in front... at moment the real worry is that wenger will continue to use mertesakher at CB and fail to bring
in quality striker... so the song remains the same... without
quality DM and
attacking option we will be trying to retain 3rd place and reach qf of cl
Its going to be difficult
for podolski even to make the bench
for arsenal if all the
attacking options are fit and they are, podolski moments of brilliance have help arsenal on several occasions, however podolski does not give the same
quality in defending, which all the other
attacking players
for his position does.
A 4 -3-3 system is favoured by Barca, Real Madrid and Man City and Bayern, the top four teams
in Europe.It suits the
attacking philosophy of Arsene Wenger which is to his credit.Unfortunately we do not have the top
quality defenders these teams have nor a dominant DM.Nevertheless it is the best system
for our current team which is top heavy
in attacking midfielders hence the need to play Ozil and Mik
in wide positions.
In my opinion the most balanced central midfield would consist of Elneny, Ramsay and Wilshere.Elneny was first class against Watford yet was left out against an average Milan side to accommodate the ever present Xhaka who will no doubt feature against CSK.
anyway the sooner elneny is integrated the better and gabriel needs to start... ox should be farmed out on loan, walcott sold to whoever will take him... should have gone a year ago at an inflated price wont get much
for him now as people have seen through the hype other than wenger... and a
quality attacking option brought
in asap which is difficult but not impossible...
A player will not change our fortunes — we have enough
quality in the team if the manager does not force people to play out of their positions and if the players do their job — Next match Arsenal should just focus on shutting shop at Liverpool and go
for a cleansheet — the midfield needs to be told to focus on disrupting more and just give the ball to ozil / Sanchez — just sit back and stop
attacks.
At the centre of their
quality attacking play was Henrikh Mkhitaryan, as he put it on a plate
for both Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba to put the Red Devils
in complete control with two simple, yet perfectly executed assists,
for the pair.
The 25 - year - old has kept 17 clean sheets
in 37 appearances
in all competitions this season, producing a string of
quality saves, as seen
in the video below, while also being a pivotal part of building
attacks for Roma too given his competence
in possession.
Time
for some brutal honesty... this team, as it stands, is
in no better position to compete next season than they were 12 months ago, minus the fact that some fans have been easily snowed by the acquisition of Lacazette, the free transfer LB and the release of Sanogo... if you look at the facts carefully you will see a team that still has far more questions than answers... to better show what I mean by this statement I will briefly discuss the current state of affairs on a position - by - position basis...
in goal we have 4 potential candidates, but
in reality we have only 1 option with any real future and somehow he's the only one we have actively tried to get rid of
for years because he and his father were a little too involved on social media and he got caught smoking (funny how people still defend Wiltshire under the same and far worse circumstances)... you would think we would want to keep any goaltender that Juventus had interest
in, as they seem to have a pretty good history when it comes to that position... as far as the defenders on our current roster there are only a few individuals whom have the skill and / or youth worthy of our time and / or investment, as such we should get rid of anyone who doesn't meet those simple requirements, which means we should get rid of DeBouchy, Gibbs, Gabriel, Mertz and loan out Chambers to see if last seasons foray with Middlesborough was an anomaly or a prediction of things to come... some fans have lamented wildly about the return of Mertz to the starting lineup due to his FA Cup performance but these sort of pie
in the sky meanderings are indicative of what's wrong with this club and it's wishy - washy fan - base...
in addition to these moves the club should aggressively pursue the acquisition of dominant and mobile CB to stabilize an all too fragile defensive group that has self - destructed on numerous occasions over the past 5 seasons... moving forward and building on our need to re-establish our once dominant presence throughout the middle of the park we need to target a CDM then do whatever it takes to get that player into the fold without any of the usual nickel and diming we have become famous
for (this kind of ruthless haggling has cost us numerous special players and certainly can't help make the player
in question feel good about the way their future potential employer feels about them)...
in order
for us to become dominant again we need to be strong up the middle again from Goalkeeper to CB to DM to ACM to striker, like we did
in our most glorious years before and during Wenger's reign... with this
in mind, if we want Ozil to be that dominant
attacking midfielder we can't keep leaving him exposed to constant ridicule about his lack of defensive prowess and provide him with the proper players
in the final third... he was never a good defensive player
in Real or with the German National squad and they certainly didn't suffer as a result of his presence on the pitch... as
for the rest of the midfield the blame falls squarely
in the hands of Wenger and Gazidis, the fact that Ramsey, Ox, Sanchez and even Ozil were allowed to regularly start when none of the aforementioned had more than a year left under contract is criminal
for a club of this size and financial might... the fact that we could find money
for Walcott and Xhaka, who weren't even guaranteed starters, means that our whole business model needs a complete overhaul...
for me it's time to get rid of some serious deadweight, even if it means selling them below what you believe their market value is just to simply right this ship and change the stagnant culture that currently exists... this means saying goodbye to Wiltshire, Elneny, Carzola, Walcott and Ramsey... everyone, minus Elneny, have spent just as much time on the training table as on the field of play, which would be manageable if they weren't so inconsistent from a performance standpoint (excluding Carzola, who is like the recent version of Rosicky — too bad, both will be deeply missed)...
in their places we need to bring
in some proven performers with no history of injuries... up front, although I do like the possibilities that a player like Lacazette presents, the fact that we had to wait so many years to acquire some true
quality at the striker position falls once again squarely at the feet of Wenger... this issue highlights the ultimate scam being perpetrated by this club since the arrival of Kroenke: pretend your a small market club when it comes to making purchases but milk your fans like a big market club when it comes to ticket prices and merchandising... I believe the reason why Wenger hasn't pursued someone of Henry's
quality, minus a fairly inexpensive RVP, was that he knew that they would demand players of a similar ilk to be brought on board and that wasn't possible when the business model was that of a «selling» club... does it really make sense that we could only make a cheeky bid
for Suarez, or that we couldn't get Higuain over the line when he was being offered up
for half the price he eventually went to Juve
for, or that we've only paid any interest to strikers who were clearly not going to press their current teams to let them go to Arsenal like Benzema or Cavani... just part of the facade that finally came crashing down when Sanchez finally called their bluff... the fact remains that no one wants to win more than Sanchez, including Wenger, and although I don't agree with everything that he has done off the field, I would much rather have Alexis front and center than a manager who has clearly bought into the Kroenke model
in large part due to the fact that his enormous ego suggests that only he could accomplish great things without breaking the bank... unfortunately that isn't possible anymore as the game has changed quite dramatically
in the last 15 years, which has left a largely complacent and complicit Wenger on the outside looking
in... so don't blame those players who demanded more and were left wanting... don't blame those fans who have tried desperately to raise awareness
for several years when cracks began to appear... place the blame at the feet of those who were well aware all along of the potential pitfalls of just such a plan but continued to follow it even when it was no longer a financial necessity, like it ever really was...
Forget the
quality of opposition etc and other churlish remarks but our
attacking boys done good; Ramsey
for Wales, Welbz
for England, Alexis
for Chile, Mesut
for Germany — brief but bright cameos from Santi and Ollie, appearances
for Theo and Poldi (Low has him inked
in as an 80 min impact guy — easier to do
in an international setting than at club level).
Lemar moving to Chelsea would certainly be bad news
for Arsenal and Liverpool, who both arguably need a player of his
quality in attack more than Conte's side.
Danny's problem is a good one
for Arsenal,
in that we have so many good
quality options on the
attacking side of things that he is once again struggling to hold down a place
in the starting line - up.
Quagliarella has previously shown himself to be a
quality player
in Serie A and
for the Italian national team, playing
in a variety of
attacking roles and earning a reputation
for his superb shooting technique.
Giroud is just an average footballer and with Walcott or welbeck or Campbell as strike partners even with Sanchez
in mix there is simply no way we can win anything with current
attacking options... The fact that wenger has refused to acknowledge this over last 4 years is astounding even
for the 8m a year man... And we thought Phillip green was overpaid... Shameful stuff which can only be justified if he brings
in two
quality strikers... I reserve judgement til September but not optimistic
was reading online somewhere today that barca were willing to let pedro go
for about # 15 million this could be a bargain
for a
quality player and if corzola (who cost # 18miillion) decides he wants to go next year back to spain we have his ready made replacement
in pedro he is hybrid of sanchez and corzola (great two footed player) skilled
in the barca hard working style and energetic and at 27 he would be at his peak and can score goals from wide areas we would have added edge to our
attacking play if we cant get reus he would be a great second chioce would be a better investment than aarons me thinks.
Ramsey has the
qualities needed
for the modern box to box were as wilshere doesn't really he is ok over a short distance with a short burst but beyond that he is quite static
in the middle, but is excellent technically and can play a quick pass when he is on form use him as a springboard to launch counter
attacks from any new manager that comes
in will either help him improve or he will be a casualty of the new regime, unfortunately that reality of life
in football i hope
for one both of them stay and help us win trophies
in years to come COYG
no idea what games you have been watching but the idea of ramsey as a defensive enforcer is comical... missed tackles galore, slow
in to tackles and weak first touch define his game... though to be fair only wenger thinks he is a renasiance footballer qble to play any position... the ramsey bandwagon was
for some time based on the barca cant have him ay any price delusion... the man should be part of the summer sale crop along with mert walcott and gibbs... its fifty fifty on campbell and giroud... both are decent squad players but the need
for quality attacking options is palpable
Well I think that something has changed, not really
in the
qualities of our team, we're still very good going forward but weak defensively, though I'd argue we've improved
in both
attacking and recently
in defending too, but we haven't improved enough
for my liking, and I think most fans would think the same.
I would take him
for Pierre - Emerick Aubameyang
for around the # 35 - # 42 million mark... he is
quality, Diverse (can play on the wing and
in the centre) He loves to
attack and him and Sanchez with the vision of Ozil would be a true terror
in europe.
